What makes us admire graffiti and others hate it?

I doubt we'll ever come across a politician who is open minded about it and see's the beauty in an amazing tag in an otherwise run down wall or section of a concrete river that no one except homeless would enter.

A city isn't complete without graffiti. It's essentially a statement that "yes, humans once inhabited.
Yes certain areas should stay clean.

And then I read about a cop arresting someone for slapping a sticker and being a dick. I know it's upholding the law, I just wonder if they are acting out of power or actual belief that it's completely wrong. Like rather than making the kid take it off, they'd arrest him and let the courts run him to the ground. I guess it's littering. IDK.. To me, I'm more fascinated by a sticker slapped door than a plain painted over door.

You probably gotta have an artistic mindset. And ya, you can respect the law, not hurt anyone, but not ride the law's dick to the point where you think your so much better because you kept your art work on a canvas rather than putting it out for display. To me it's the ultimate expression of freedom.

Just as long as certain boundaries are respected like no private property, no gang affiliation, and only stick to areas that no one cares or knows much about because it wont effect anyone. Only thing that does is the city that thinks those areas matter but no one is gonna go down there to admire a blank wall. Submitted by strik3r2k8
